While the photographs are taken at places at different corners of the globe, the photographs themselves are not about the places, but the tranquil spaces, beyond the physical “space”. Bustling museums, teeming temples, busy stations, crowded parks…Richa finds pockets of tranquility in all these.
Finding Light’ is about Richa's discovery of unexpected combinations of darkness and light found amidst people and places. Her photographs give light – the very heart of photography – an almost physical form and dimension. Light here becomes the principal subject – sometimes dazzling, sometimes soft...sometimes mysterious, sometimes revealing. Taking on a meaning and a shape, when contrasted with the darkness...
The exhibition presents these many moods of ‘Light’, symbolic – in a way – of the many moods of life.
